The purpose of this poweful and handy tool is to facilitate the design and testing of regular expressions.
The screen is divided into three areas. The one you are reading this text in is for the graphic representation of your regular expression. This area will update automatically everytime the expression is modified. As you pass the mouse over graphic elementc in this area, you can see the corresponding string in the expression being selected so you can always check which part you are viewing.
The area below is a text area in which you can enter and edit the regular expression. Every time a key is hit on your keyboard, the graphic representation of the expression is updated. The third area is intended to receive a text sample to test the expression. Using its menu bar, you can upload a file from your PC, get a file from the Web, enter some text directly, or paste it from the clipboard. |
Syntax: Both syntaxes used in ColdFusion and Javascript can be used.
This version is online for beta testing. For a limited time, this beta version is offered on line for free use by ColdFusion developers. The final version will be offered for sale soon (yes, at a reasonable price), as well as a dual expression version especially designed to be used with the popular custom tag CF_REextract.
